Dartmouth College proposes new traffic light for busy street
HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Dartmouth College has proposed adding a new traffic signal as part of its $200 million campus expansion plan.
Valley New reports the school announced the proposed signal Thursday in a news release. The light would be erected at West Wheelock Street, near the entrance to an access road leading to a new parking garage.
West Wheelock Street is a major thoroughfare between Norwich and Hanover’s downtown area. Officials say the light will limit delays on the street.
Dartmouth officials say the Thayer School of Engineering, Department of Computer Science, Magnuson Family Center for Entrepreneurship and the electron microscopy facility will all be housed in the new 160,000-square-foot building. The planned parking garage will have three levels and space for 340 cars.
