LOWELL -- Wednesday night’s highly-anticipated Lowell High vs. Central Catholic boys basketball game, a Division 1 North Tournament semifinal, has been moved from Central to the Lawrence High School Fieldhouse, the MIAA has reported.

Problems with the Central scoreboard and the size of its gym led to the switch. Central Catholic had been a “pre-determined site” that was set by the MIAA before the tournament began.

With that game being played Wednesday at 7 p.m., the Lowell High hockey game, also scheduled for that same time, is expected to be switched to Thursday.

Lowell takes on Lynn in the Division 3 North semifinals at the Chelmsford Forum. The switch has not been confirmed as of Monday morning.
