NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Kareem Gilbert scored 22 points to lead four other Tigers in double figures as Tennessee State downed Eastern Kentucky 82-71 Monday night.

Tennessee State (6-11, 4-5 Ohio Valley Conference) won its fourth straight league game after starting 0-5 in the OVC by trailing only once in the opening minutes. But Gilbert hit a 3-pointer that put the Tigers ahead to stay with 18:29 left.

Eastern Kentucky (4-14, 2-8) trailed 44-30 at halftime but pulled within eight points twice. Travis Inskeep cut the Tigers’ lead to 76-68 with a jumper with three minutes left before Tennessee State sealed the victory with a 6-1 run.

Corrie Johnson scored 16 points for the Tigers, Jason Johnson had 15, Kevin Samuel added 11 and Seth Huber 10.

Daniel Sutton and Aaron Cecil led Eastern Kentucky with 17 points each. Inskeep finished with 14, and Carlos Bess had 11.
