Ludington man dies in vehicle accident in Wisconsin

BEAVER DAM, Wis. — The victim in a fatal crash in Green Lake County, Wisconsin, has been identified.

The driver of a pickup truck, Scott Cooper, 27, of Ludington, died following the Monday morning crash, according to a report in the Beaver Dam Daily Citizen.

According to information from the sheriff’s office, the crash happened on Highway A in the town of Brooklyn around 7:45 a.m. Monday, when the pickup truck crossed the center line and collided with a garbage truck.

The passenger in the pickup truck, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was Darrick Magee, 34, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

The driver of the garbage truck was Bradley Burchardt, 44, of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Burchardt was not injured.

Cooper was flown by helicopter to a medical facility, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash scene closed the highway for about eight hours. Units responding to the scene in addition to sheriff’s office personnel included Green Lake/Brooklyn Fire and Rescue and First Responders, Green Lake County EMS and Paramedic units, Green Lake Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
