Rochester police investigating incident of shots fired
Rochester police are investigating an incident during which five to six shots were fired early Sunday.
Police received multiple reports around 5 a.m. of five to six shots fired in the area of the 1200 block of 12th Avenue Northeast and the 1500 block of 10th Avenue Northeast, according to Capt. Casey Moilanen.
Officers cased the area but did not locate anyone. Around 5:40 a.m., a 68-year-old woman who lives on the 1500 block of 11th Avenue Northeast called police to report that a bullet had struck her home, Moilanen said.
Officers found that a single shot had been fired through the front door and was lodged in a door frame in the home’s hallway, Moilanen said. No other reports of bullets in homes or cars were reported.
Police received no reports of injuries.
