Lunenburg’s Fitzpatrick Records 300th Career Point
HUDSON -- Lunenburg senior Declan Fitzpatrick surpassed the 300-point milestone for his varsity career in Tuesday’s 15-4 boys’ lacrosse win over host Hudson.
Fitzpatrick finished with four goals and five assists to accomplish the feat. Teammate Donovan Powell also had a big game, scoring six goals, while Connor Viviano finished with two goals and three assists for the Blue Knights (8-4).
“Declan’s a great kid, he works really hard,” Lunenburg head coach Michael Fratturelli said. “He’s the first person to come to the field and the last person to leave.”
Zach Moran led Leominster (5-5, 3-3 Mid-Wach B) in the impressive road win, recording two goals and six assists. Nate Taylor (3 goals, assist) and Therron Glynn (goal, 2 assists) helped power the offense, while teammates LJ Van Molle, Adam Couch and Cam Dewolf chipped in with two goals each.
Also for Leominster, goalies Kenny Aubuchon and Lance Savage split time in net to earn the victory. The Blue Devils will next host Hudson Thursday at 4 p.m.
Rory Boots potted 3 goals and dished out 2 assists to lead the Chieftains (8-3). Luke McConnell and Mike Henderson each scored twice in the victory.
Matt Colbert (6-0, 6-0), at first singles, and Dan Baykov (6-0, 6-1), at second singles, picked up individual wins for Nashoba Regional (1-6). Also for the Chieftains, Nathan Haberle and Nick Perreault battled hard in a 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 second-doubles loss, while Luke Bagdonas fell, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5, at third singles.
Leominster swept the singles matches, with Julia DeAmicis (first singles, 8-6), Ruby Roberge (second singles, 8-4) and Claire Higginson (third singles, 8-6) all earning victories as Leominster (1-5) earned its first team win of the season. Also for the Blue Devils, Elizabeth Duffy and Caitlin Ward-Walsh prevailed at second doubles (8-6).
