Transient man arrested on felony shoplifting charge
Lake Havasu City Police officers arrested a transient man Nov. 11, after he allegedly shoplifted a pneumatic paint sprayer from a McCulloch Boulevard business. Police allegedly identified the suspect, Thomas A. Stewart, 52, through video surveillance footage after the alleged theft. Stewart was arrested a block away, the police report says, in an unrelated, unidentified incident.
According to the police report, Stewart admitted to the theft after he was transported to Lake Havasu City Jail. He allegedly told police that he intended to trade the paint sprayer for heroin. Stewart has been arrested in three prior shoplifting incidents in the past five years.
