Cavs Legion GC opens NBA 2K League playoffs tonight

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- While the Cavaliers playoff chances this season remain to be seen, their esports counterparts Cavs Legion is ready for the postseason.

The inaugural NBA 2K League playoffs tip off Friday with No. 5 seed Cleveland taking on Raptors Uprising GC at 8 p.m. The winner of the single-elimination matchup will move on to the the best-of-three semifinals on Saturday.

Cavs Legion, which finished the regular season at 8-6, is led by No. 1 draft pick Brandon “Hood” Caicedo, who averaged 29.8 points a game this season. Center Gerald “Sick x 973″ Knapp and sixth man Christopher “Savage” Tracey provide additional scoring punch, with averages of 15.7 and 14.9 points, respectively.

Toronto, meanwhile, is one of the hottest teams in the league, winning 7 of its last 8 regular season games. Led by Kenneth “Kenny” Hailey and Seanquai “KingQuai614″ Harris, Raptors Uprising won its only matchup against Cavs Legion.

The Cavs Legion-Raptors Uprising game is one of four quarterfinals games. Fans can watch the NBA 2K League playoffs streamed live on Twitch starting at 6 p.m.
