SPRING FLOODING-NEBRASKA-RED TAGS _ Nearly 600 residences in the eastern Nebraska communities of Bellevue and Fremont have been ruled uninhabitable.

XGR--NEBRASKA DHHS _ Nebraska lawmakers have confirmed Gov. Pete Ricketts’ appointee to lead the state Department of Health and Human Services.

KIDNAPPING-GRAND ISLAND _ A third person is going to prison for the kidnapping and beating of a Grand Island man.

DEAD CATTLE _ Authorities say more than 200 cattle carcasses and more than 200 cattle in poor condition were found on a property in southern Nebraska’s Fillmore County.

MINNEAPOLIS _ Jack Hoiberg passed up a Division I golf scholarship to join Michigan State’s storied program as a walk-on.
