YOUTH DIES AFTER BEING RUN OVER BY TRACTOR-TRAILER WHILE TRYING TO CROSS INTERSTATE
A juvenile died Friday evening when hit by a truck while trying to cross Interstate 84 on foot near the Franklin Boulevard exit in Nampa, according to Idaho State Police.
The juvenile, who was on I-84 just east of the exit, tried to cross the I-84 lanes of traffic from right to left about 7:54 p.m., state police report.
Then the juvenile was hit by a 2018 Freightliner commercial truck. The truck was driven by 50-year-old Victor Garringer of Emmett.
The juvenile died of injuries at the scene of the accident, state police report. The juvenile’s next of kin have been notified.
The westbound lanes of I-84 were blocked for about two hours while troopers investigated the accident.
