Crews find body of man in Florida river after boat crash
RIVERVIEW, Fla. (AP) — Divers in Florida have recovered the body of a man who went missing after a boat crash.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the body was found Monday morning, some eight hours after the boat crashed on the Alafia River near Tampa.
News outlets report the boat crashed into a bridge and its three occupants were ejected.
Crews rescued a 12-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man. Authorities said the child was taken to a hospital and the man refused treatments.
Crews from Fish and Wildlife, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Coast Guard searched for the 41-year-old man.
An investigation is underway to determine why the boat crashed.
The man’s identity hasn’t been released.
