NEW YORK (AP) — A tractor-trailer carrying metal construction material careened into three homes on Staten Island.

The Fire Department of New York says one civilian and one firefighter were treated for non-life-threatening injuries on Monday after the crash in the Mariners Harbor neighborhood.

Patricia Willis tells WCBS that she awoke to a loud crash at around 6 a.m. and found the truck protruding into her living room.

Willis says she saw the driver moving around in the cab. Then he asked her to help him find his phone.

Willis says if the truck had landed in her bedroom, she might not be here to talk about it.
