LINCOLN, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State Police have released the name of the man who died after the all-terrain vehicle he was operating left a roadway and hit trees.

On Monday, police said 56-year-old Troy J. Gadue, of Monkton, died of injuries suffered in the crash that was reported at 11:25 a.m. Sunday.

They say an initial investigation shows Gadue was travelling in Lincoln when he left the road and struck several trees before the ATV came to a rest. He was not wearing a helmet.

Police say Gadue died from injuries sustained in the crash before emergency workers could arrive at the scene.
