Sharma out of ODI series with broken finger
NOTTINGHAM, England (AP) — India opener Rohit Sharma will miss the rest of the one-day international series against England because of a broken finger.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India says Friday that Murali Vijay has been called up as Sharma’s replacement.
The BCCI says Sharma, who scored 52 in India’s 133-run win in the second ODI in Cardiff on Wednesday, “sustained a fracture on the middle finger of his right hand.”
The third ODI is played in Nottingham on Saturday. India leads the series 1-0.
