Milford PD: Woman participated in Walnut Beach assault, robbery
MILFORD — A New York woman was charged by city cops earlier this week for her role in an assault and robbery of a man this summer, police said Friday.
Martha Vieira, 20, of Pleasant Street in Utica, was charged with second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, second-degree assault, second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny.
Vieira was taken into custody on an active warrant for her arrest on Wednesday. Police said she allegedly participated in a robbery at Walnut Beach on Aug. 22.
“The male victim stated he was in a vehicle in the parking lot of Walnut Beach with Vieira when he was ripped out of the vehicle by two other males, beaten and his property was taken,” police said.
It was unclear why Vieira was in the victim’s vehicle.
Vieira’s initial bond was set at $30,000. She appeared in court Thursday and was released from custody, court records show. Vieira will enter a plea for the charges in this case on Jan. 2.
