December 29, 2018

Brunswick School’s Luca Errico won the 138-pound weight class at the 39th annual Michael O’Connell Memorial Tournament at Pearl River High School (N.Y.) on Friday and earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors.

Errico was voted by the coaches as the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament, which saw the Bruins place sixth in the team standings. Co-captains Harry Fett (160-pound division) and Tim Saunders (195-pound) both made it to the finals. Fett, a finalist last year, and Saunders, an individual champion in the 182-pound class a year ago, both lost to New York public school state tourney finalists.

Nick Bell (145) placed third, while Nadji Ngbokoli, Dylan Reynolds, Kyle Karas, and Kaden Saad also competed for the Bruins.

The Bruins return to action on Saturday, January 5 at Salisbury against Trinity-Pawling and Salisbury.
