SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (AP) _ Superior Industries International Inc. (SUP) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $8.1 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Southfield, Michigan-based company said it had net income of 9 cents. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were 25 cents per share.

The maker of aluminum wheels for the auto industry posted revenue of $389 million in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $383.5 million.

Superior Industries expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.52 billion to $1.56 billion.

Superior Industries shares have climbed 31 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 14 percent in the last 12 months.
