PARIS (AP) _ Three-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong maintained his overall lead, and France's Frederic Guesdon won the fifth stage of the Dauphine Libere on Friday.

Armstrong, of the U.S. Postal Service team, leads with a time of 20 hours, 28 minutes, 12 seconds, 16 seconds ahead of teammate Floyd Landis.

Guesdon won Friday's 126 1/2-mile ride through the Alps in 5:07.59. Colombia's Santiago Botero, of Kelme, and France's Laurent Jalabert, riding for CSC Tiscali, sped across the finish line simultaneously to finish second and third, respectively.
