Candidates for governor trying to round up votes
BOSTON (AP) — Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Charlie Baker are on the hunt for votes as the race for Massachusetts governor enters its final week of campaigning before the Nov. 4 election.
On Saturday Coakley will meet up with Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and union officials in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston for an hour-long campaign walk. Coakley then plans to participate in a gubernatorial forum and attend a Boston house party before ending the day in Lowell at a campaign event with Gov. Deval Patrick.
Baker plans to attend the same gubernatorial forum hosted by the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations.
Baker plans to spend Sunday in Boston, stopping by a restaurant in the Mattapan neighborhood before visiting a Halloween event in South Boston and attending another gubernatorial forum.
