Woman killed, man hurt in Lawrence shooting
LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) — Police in Lawrence are investigating a shooting that left a woman dead and landed a man in the hospital.
Officers responding to an apartment at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday found the 29-year-old woman suffering from a wound to the neck.
The other victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that do not appear life threatening.
No names were released.
Mayor Daniel Rivera tells The Eagle-Tribune (http://bit.ly/1ocJvKR ) that the shooting is “not a pattern” and the city is safe.
He says the woman was fairly new to the city.
There was no word on arrests.
