13 Projects Receive Funding In Luzerne County

HARRISBURG — Thirteen projects in Luzerne County earned funding from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s latest round of grants.

The funding came in several programs. They include:

Small Water and Sewer Program:

• Avoca: Wood Street Sanitary Sewer Project, $131,750

• Foster Twp.: Route 940 Sewer Extension, $325,000

• Plymouth Twp.: Streets Sanitary Sewer Improvements, $325,000

• West Pittston: Luzerne Avenue Storm and Sewer Improvements, $160,000

• Pittston: Panama Street Sewer Improvements Project, $424,845

• Hanover Twp.: Solomon Creek Interceptor Rehabilitation - Phase 2B, $362,500

• Jenkins Twp.: Sewer Infrastructure Project, $300,000

Act 13, which comes from an “impact fee” paid by gas companies drilling in the state:

• Ashley: Sulfur Run Flood Mitigation Project, $200,000

• Yatesville: Yatesville Borough Flood Control Project, $300,000

• Rice Twp.: Pickleball Court Construction, $32,171

• White Haven: Rail Yard Park Development, $125,600

• Fairview Twp.: Basketball Court Renovations, $60,562

• Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, Inc.: D&L Trail Johnson Street to Black Diamond Trail Study, $55,000
