DETROIT (AP) _ Lincoln makes fancy cars and the extravagant Navigator sport utility vehicle. Could a luxury pickup be next?

A Ford Motor Co. official told Business Week that a prototype of a Lincoln pickup has been developed, the magazine reports in issues on newsstands Friday.

Ford calls the truck the Lincoln Blackwood and could sell it for $45,000 to $50,000 starting next year, the magazine said. It has a chrome-grilled front similar to the Navigator, a short truck bed encased in black-varnished wood, and a leather-and-burled walnut interior.

Anne Doyle, a spokeswoman for Lincoln-Mercury, called the report speculative. ``We don't talk about future products,'' she said.
