New Canaan police try to identify child seen ringing doorbell
NEW CANAAN — Police are looking to identify a child they say was seen on video surveillance ringing a doorbell in the lower Valley Road area Monday night.
Police said the child was about 7 or 8 years old and was alone when the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m.
Police said they wanted to “clarify” an alert sent out around 8 p.m. Monday night about a missing child in the area. Police said they have not received any reports of a missing child and are conducting a proactive response to try and identify the child seen in the surveillance video.
New Canaan police, other agencies and a K-9 unit searched the area Monday night.
