Panel hears what companies want
The Allen County Redevelopment Commission : a body that works to attract and retain businesses to the greater Fort Wayne area : got a lesson Tuesday on what companies are looking for when they pick a spot to locate.
The teacher was Linda Walczak, director of the northeast region of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. In her presentation, she passed on results of this year’s survey of those contacting the state agency about available sites.
According to the study, nearly twice as many requests (93) were made last year for buildings as were made for land (51). And, since 2015, about twice as many requests were made for property for sale (30%), compared with property for lease (16%). More than half of those making inquiries, 54%, had no preference.
