The future of journalism and democracy will be discussed at next Community Conversation
NORFOLK - An Issue of Trust: a discussion about democracy and the future of journalism will be topic for discussion Tuesday night as the Norfolk Daily News, Calmwater Financial Group, Northeast Community College, and Humanities Nebraska host a “Community Conversation.”
Norfolk Daily News Editor Kent Warneke says the guest speakers for evening include Jenna Johnson, a national political correspondent for The Washington Post; Clark Kauffman, investigative reporter for The Des Moines Register; and Frank Partsch, retired Opinion page editor for The Omaha World-Herald.
“We try to keep a pulse on what issues are of important to Norfolk and area residents so we are always open to suggestions and comments from audience members for topics. This one in particular came about because Humanities Nebraska applied for a grant from a national organization to explore this particular topic” Warneke said.
It’s scheduled for Northeast Community College’s Cox Activities Center Theater, Tuesday night from 5:30 to 7.
