Seymour PD investigating suspicious person complaint
SEYMOUR — Police are investigating after two students were apparently approached by an older man who tried to offer them a ride Thursday.
Police said Friday night that the department is investigation a suspicious person complaint that happened on Route 34 — Roosevelt Drive — around 9 a.m. Thursday.
“Two students were at their bus stop when an older black male, bald with some facial hair, driving a silver Toyota-type vehicle approached them and asked them if they needed a ride,” police said. “The two students told him ‘no’ and he left.”
The vehicle was last seen headed east on Route 34 toward Derby. There was no additional description of the driver or the vehicle.
Police said this was an isolated incident.
Anyone in the area between 9 a.m .and 9:10 a.m. that might have seen anything is asked to call the Detective Bureau at 203-881-7638 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
