Woman gets 12 years in prison for sex trafficking children
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina woman has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sex trafficking children.
The Fayetteville Observer reports that 29-year-old Daquanjra Tasha White had pleaded guilty to one of four counts in February.
A U.S. Attorney’s Office release following her sentencing this week says White had recruited three girls through social media between November 2015 and January 2016. The release says she took “provocative” pictures of them, advertised them online, and received the proceeds from prostitution in Fayetteville and Raleigh.
It’s unclear how old the girls were.
White will also have five years of supervised release following her prison stint.
The newspaper didn’t include comment from White or a representative.
