SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Ending a 14-game losing streak that spanned nearly four years to the San Antonio Spurs didn’t mean as much to Sacramento as finishing its quick four-game homestand with an even record. It’s understandable, since many of these young Kings were still in high school the last time Sacramento beat the Spurs. By Michael Wagaman. AP Photos.
CHICAGO — Harrison Barnes scored a season-high 23 points and the Dallas Mavericks overcame a sluggish performance from prized rookie Luka Doncic to beat the Chicago Bulls 103-98. SENT: 700 words, photos.
AUSTIN, Texas — Dylan Osetkowski scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Texas used a 16-0 run midway through the second half to pull away from Louisiana-Monroe for a 65-55 win. By Jim Vertuno. SENT: 600 words, photos.

FBN--COWBOYS-SIGN OF LIFE
FRISCO, Texas — Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott played off each other in a season-saving win over Philadelphia much the same way they did during their remarkable rookie year together in 2016. Now the star quarterback and running back of the Dallas Cowboys need a winning streak, although it won’t have to be as long as the franchise-record run two years ago, the last time they made the playoffs. By Pro Football Writer Schuyler Dixon. SENT: 720 words, photos.
HOUSTON — Houston Texans running back D’Onta Foreman has recovered from a ruptured Achilles tendon he suffered almost a year ago and could return to practice soon. When Foreman returns to practice the team will have 21 days to take him off the physically unable to perform list and add him to the active roster. He believes he could return to practice as early as this week. By Kristie Rieken. SENT: 370 words.
FBC--T25-BAYLOR-IOWA STATE EJECTIONS
Iowa State running back David Montgomery and Baylor defensive end Greg Roberts will miss the first half of their teams’ games this week after the scuffle that led to their ejections in the second half of a testy game between the Cyclones and Bears. Cyclones coach Matt Campbell said his team wouldn’t appeal the penalty against Montgomery, who retaliated with a swing after Roberts reached over an official to throw a punch at the running back in 18th-ranked Iowa State’s 28-14 win Saturday. FBC--T25-BIG 12-FINAL FOUR
Sixth-ranked Oklahoma or No. 7 West Virginia will play in the Big 12 championship game. They might be facing each other, too, The Sooners, Mountaineers, No. 13 Texas and No. 18 Iowa State are the final four teams still in contention for the two spots in the Big 12 title game Dec. 1. There are also two big head-to-head matchups the last two weekends of the regular season before then. By Stephen Hawkins. SENT: 800 words, photos.
FBC--T25-TEXAS-LATE GAME DRIVES
AUSTIN, Texas — Game after game, Sam Ehlinger and the Texas offense keep putting together game-clinching or game-winning drives. The latest came this past weekend with Ehlinger’s touchdown pass to Lil’Jordan Humphrey with 29 seconds left to beat Texas Tech. Before that was the drive for the game-winning field goal against Oklahoma. There was a drive to run out the clock in a close win over Kansas State. And even a win over Tulsa required a fourth-quarter touchdown drive to kill a rally. Give the quarterback the chance to put a game away, chances are he’s going to do it. By Jim Vertuno. SENT: 620 words, photos.
BATON ROUGE, La. — Although LSU cannot win the Southeastern Conference championship, victories in its next two games will result in a regular season that exceeded expectations by a wide margin. The 10th-ranked Tigers need to beat Rice this Saturday and Texas A&M in College Station the following week for their first 10-win regular season since 2012. That probably also would put LSU in a New Year’s Six Bowl. So while coach Ed Orgeron hoped the Tigers could contend for a championship, he doesn’t want to downplay the improvement he’s seen in the program, which was ranked 25th in the preseason poll and climbed as high as fourth before sliding back on the heels of a loss to No. 1 Alabama.
