Police: Man posted threats on blowing up state building
LISBON, Maine (AP) — Police say a man in Maine who posted on his Facebook page multiple times that he would blow up a state building has been charged with terrorizing.
Police say 24-year-old Alexander Hanks was arrested after he posted that he was going to blow up a Maine Department of Health and Human Services building.
WGME-TV reports police searched his home in Lisbon on Wednesday and did not find any firearms or bomb making materials. The health department told police that Hanks is known to them, but is not the subject of an active case.
Hanks was taken to Androscoggin County Jail and held on $2,500 bail. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 6. It’s unclear if he has hired an attorney.
