Driver ejected in Danbury crash that splits car in two
DANBURY - The Danbury police Traffic Division is investigating a horrific crash early Thursday that caused the driver to be ejected as the car split in two, police said.
The accident occurred at around 2 a.m. as the driver was headed west on White Street, Lt. Ethan Mable said.
The Honda Accord the person was driving struck a utility pole at 303 White St., causing the car to split in two and the front half to catch fire, reports said.
The driver was ejected and taken to a nearby hospital, Mable said. Police have not released any information about the driver including his or her condition or identity.
The crash is being investigated by the department’s Traffic Division. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to call Officer Ryder or Officer Leggiadro at (203) 797-2157.
