WVC SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Silinskie, Freeman Lead Warriors

Nicole Silinskie ripped three doubles, and Evan Freeman homered as part of Wyoming Area’s 14-hit attack in an 8-6 road win over Dallas. Jessica Skladzien went the distance with six strikeouts to get the win.

Kari Melberger, Kate Slusser and Bri Pizzano all had two hits for Wyoming Area. Freeman drove in three runs, while Silinskie finished with two.

Samantha Kern and Sydney Hornlein each had two doubles for Dallas. Christina Schappert and Julia Kocher both had a triple.

At Wallenpaupack, Tori Para singled home Bailey Loyack with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead Pittston Area to the win.

Loyack finished the day with a single and two runs scored. Lexi Felinski had a single and drove in a run on a sac-fly in the third. Alexa McHugh got the win, striking out nine and walking two in eight innings of work.

Natalie Meredick had a double for Wallenpaupack.
