Outdoor Concert Free in Westford
WESTFORD -- Residents can enjoy a free outdoor concert this weekend hosted by the town’s Parks and Recreation Department.
The final of three Concerts on the Common will take place Aug. 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring live music from John Fitzsimmons. The program is supported by a grant from the Westford Cultural Council.
The most recent concert in the series, scheduled for July 22 with a performance by The Lookouts, was canceled due to rain.

Pancakes boost scholarship fund
LOWELL -- A blueberry pancake breakfast to benefit St. Casimir’s Scholarship Fund is set for Aug. 19. The breakfast will be from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Casimir’s Parish Hall, located at 268 Lakeview Ave.
Admission for adults will be $8, and admission for children under 10 will be $5. “Little ones” will get in for free.

Car wash helps WHS football
WILMINGTON -- A fundraising car wash is set to benefit the Wilmington High School football teams on Sunday, Aug. 12.
The car wash will take place in the parking lot of the Fourth of July Committee building, located at 142 Middlesex Ave., from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The football players will be washing cars for donations that day.

Invitation to recycle electronics
TOWNSEND -- An electronic and appliance recycle day will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 1 School St.
The cost for computer towers, scanners, VCRs, copiers, DVDs, stereo equipment, computers, lighting, vacuums, answering machines, fax machines, speakers, circuit boards, radios, modems, fans, video equipment, game consoles, typewriters is $5. The cost for dishwashers, dryers, stoves, microwaves, lawn mowers, snow blowers, small engine items, glass monitors and flat-panel monitors is $10 each. Televisions 15 inches to 35 inches and air conditioners cost $15; dehumidifiers and refrigerators are $20-$25; scrap/junk metal is $10 car load; empty propane tanks is $10. Cables, keyboards, car batteries and cellphones are free.
A bicycle recycle day will be held in the future.

Littleton hosts blood drive
LITTLETON -- Town offices will host a blood drive organized by the Red Cross later this month.
The drive will take place from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13. Residents are encouraged to donate blood, something that is always in need at hospitals across the country.
Appointments can be scheduled at redcrossblood.org and by phone at 1-800-733-2767.
Those interested can complete pre-donation reading and health history paperwork online at redcrossblood.org/rapidpass to save time at the drive.
