Couple Reunited With Dog Lost At Airport

November 15, 1989

PITTSBURGH (AP) _ A couple who canceled their vacation and posted a $500 reward when their dog bolted from a cage before being put aboard their airplane have been reunited with the pet.

Donald Deeley, 71, brought 7-year-old Sue Sue home Monday after she turned up three miles from the airport on the front porch of a house owned by Dorothy McCutcheon.

Mrs. McCutcheon said the half poodle, half Lhasa apso had been in her neighborhood since Sunday.

Deeley and his wife, Mary Louise, also 71, had posted signs, bought classified ads and searched near the airport for Sue Sue.

One of the signs led Mrs. McCutcheon to the Deeleys.

Deeley said Sue Sue is his constant companion, but he vowed never again to travel with the dog.

The dog slipped out of its cage and vanished Nov. 7 as the Deeleys were preparing to board a flight for Myrtle Beach, S.C.
