AVOCA Officers on Sunday seized a loaded handgun that was concealed in a Laceyville woman’s carry-on baggage at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, according to the Transportation Security Administration. The woman, who was not identified, had a .22-caliber derringer loaded with two rounds in her bag when she went through the security checkpoint, officials said. A TSA officer saw the weapon using an X-ray machine and contacted Avoca police, according to the TSA. Police confiscated the weapon and detained the woman for questioning.
