Motorcyclist Hit By Lightning
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (AP) _ A 39-year-old motorcyclist was knocked unconscious by lightning that struck his helmet, but quick action from two other travelers helped save his life, police said.
Daniel Wrona, of Zion, Ill., was driving his motorcycle on Interstate 94 east of Benton Harbor on Sunday afternoon when struck, said Benton Township Police Officer Kim Fowler.
James and Lucy Pirages of Rockford, Ill., took turns administering cardio- pulmonary resuscitation and partially revived Wrona before medical personnel arrived, the officer said.
Wrona suffered cuts, bruises and head burns and was listed in stable condition at Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph, nursing supervisor Karen Yach said.
