Salt Lake takes MLS lead with win over Sounders
SANDY, Utah (AP) — Kyle Beckerman and Robbie Findley scored either side of halftime to lead Real Salt Lake over Seattle 2-0 and in onto the top of the Major League Soccer standings Saturday.
Elsewhere, the Chicago Fire came back in the second half to down the Columbus Crew 2-1 thanks to goals from Mike Magee, Dilly Duka, both of which were set up by Joel Lindpere.
Federico Higuain opened the scoring for Columbus with a penalty in the seventh minute.
At Frisco, Texas, Andrew Jacobson and Walker Zimmerman scored in the final two minutes to give FC Dallas a 2-2 draw with Sporting Kansas City.
Kei Kamara converted a penalty in the 43rd minute for Kansas City and took a 2-0 lead after a Dallas own goal.
Dallas nearly won it in injury time, but Kenny Cooper’s 20-yard shot curled just wide of the right goal post.
D.C. United won their first match in 14 games with a 1-0 home win over the San Jose Earthquakes.
Chris Pontius converted a penalty in the 11th minute for the win.
Toronto FC and the Houston Dynamo drew 0-0 in the day’s other match.
