Go2Net Acquires Web21

SEATTLE (AP) _ Go2Net Inc., a network of World Wide Web sites, has acquired Web21, an online service that ranks Internet sites by categories, for about $13.5 million in stock.

Web21, founded in 1995 in Palo Alto, Calif., identifies and ranks the top 100 Web sites in such categories as technology, entertainment, business and news. The company will keep its Palo Alto headquarters once the acquisition is completed.

Go2Net, based in Seattle, is a network of Web sites focusing on personal finance, Internet search, commerce and games.
