Portsmouth officials consider housing study
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — Portsmouth officials are one step closer to creating a task force to study the feasibility of building more residential housing.
The Portsmouth Herald reports the Portsmouth City Council passed a resolution Monday giving unanimous support to the creation of a task force by the Pease Development Authority. The PDA is scheduled to discuss the proposal Thursday.
PDA Executive Director David Mullen says it’s possible the board may not make a decision this week. Mullen believes adding housing at the tradeport doesn’t make sense.
Mayor Jack Blalock says the resolution keeps the idea of housing at Pease “in front of” officials. Blalock believes housing would benefit workers in the area.
