Sweden’s Sjoland Takes Golf Lead
HONG KONG (AP) _ Sweden’s Patrik Sjoland equaled the course record with an 8-under 62 Saturday and took a four-stroke lead after the third round of the Hong Kong Open.
Sjoland eagled the third hole and finished with seven birdies over the par-70, 6,648-yard course at the Hong Kong Golf Club for a 54-hole total of 13-under 197.
Only a bogey at the fifth hole marred Sjoland’s round. His score matched the 62 by England’s Nick Faldo in the Johnnie Walker Classic in 1993.
Ian Woosnam of Wales fired a 66 to stay in contention at 201.
One stroke behind Woosnam was Felix Casas of the Philippines, who carded a 65. Second-round leader Gary Rusnak of the United States shot a 69 and dropped to fourth at 203.
