Also occurring on Sept. 11 is “First Responders and Military Appreciation Night.”Police, EMS, sheriff, fire, rescue and military personnel are invited to the fair free on that day when in uniform or with proper ID.

“It’s our privilege to host this special event for our local heroes,” said Nick Hooker, director of marketing for the Florence Center and the Greater Pee Dee State Fair. “This is a small token of our appreciation for their service and to commemorate, honor and give back to those who serve our community. We hope to see many in uniform enjoying the activities and live performances at no cost.”
