ATTLEBORO, Mass. (AP) — Attleboro police say a 19-year-old man has been arrested after a seven-hour standoff that followed an overnight shooting.

The Sun Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/HwT8pd) police said Richard Galiotte of Attleboro was arrested around 11 a.m. Friday hiding in the attic of a multi-family house.

He’s to be arraigned Monday on obstruction of justice and weapons charges. It’s not known if he has a lawyer.

Police Chief Kyle Heagney said officers alerted to shots fired at 4 a.m. found a wounded man in his early 20s. He was taken Rhode Island Hospital and is expected to recover.

The suspect ran into the nearby house, and didn’t respond to police who later brought in a state police robot and search dog.

Three people left the building before he was captured.

Nearby residents and five public schools were told to shelter-in-place.
