WAFFLE HOUSE SHOOTING
NASHVILLE, Tenn. _ The father of a man accused of fatally shooting four people at a Nashville Waffle House last year wants a lawsuit against him by a victim’s mother thrown out. The suit accuses Jeffrey Reinking of negligence and conspiracy for returning several guns to his mentally unstable son. By Travis Loller.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. _ Country soul icon Ronnie Milsap spent years recording 13 guest artists and bands for his new album, “Ronnie Milsap: The Duets,” in a place that became a hit factory for him in the 1970s and ’80s. He returned to his former studio in Nashville, Tennessee — dubbed “Ronnie’s Place” — that he bought from Roy Orbison in the 1970s and kept until 1995. He recorded duet versions of some of his classics, as well as new covers, with Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Kacey Musgraves, George Strait, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and many more. TOKYO _ Mitsubishi Motors held a board meeting Friday to examine the latest allegations of unreported compensation against Carlos Ghosn, who led Nissan for two decades and forged the alliance between the Japanese automakers. The allegations center around a 7.8 million euro ($8.8 million) payment made to Ghosn last year by a 50-50 venture between Nissan Motor Co. and Mitsubishi Motors Corp., set up in 2017 in Amsterdam, and only Ghosn and a handful of aides knew about the money, Mitsubishi Chief Executive Osamu Masuko told reporters after the meeting.
