Inez Beerbohm, 78, Watertown
Inez O. Beerbohm, 78, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019, from complications of multiple sclerosis.
She was born Nov. 8, 1940, to Roland Sr. and Clara Ritter. Inez attended grade school in town of Hubbard and graduated from Hustisford High School in 1958. On Nov. 6, 1966, she was united in marriage with William Beerbohm Jr. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Neosho. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown since 1969.
From age 18 until her retirement at the age of 57, she worked at Kroger, which became the original Piggly Wiggly in Watertown.
Inez was a Lutheran Girl Pioneer leader and dedicated room mother for the years her only daughter attended grade school at St. John’s. She enjoyed spending vacations on Fox Lake, traveling with her daughter, watching birds and especially time with her pride and joy — her grandchildren — watching them grow up, attending their concerts and sporting events.
She enjoyed watching all the ball games at Riverside Park, and playing euchre. She was proud to get her driver’s license a year before her daughter at the age of 42.
Inez was the mother of Sharon (Scott) Kumbier and proud grandmother of Morgan (Andrew) Beyer and Blake (Caitlyn Strauss) Kumbier, and is further survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Inez was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by husband, Bill; parents; parents-in-law, William Sr. and Bernice Beerbohm; sisters, Marcella Koepsell and Clara Mae Phelps; and brother, Roland Ritter Jr.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Rodney Warnecke officiating. Family and friends may gather at church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Marquardt Health Center.
A special thank you to all the nurses and staff of Marquardt Health Center and Marquardt Hospice for their attentive care and friendship.
