Fundraising started for families that lost 3 to fire
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Thousands of dollars have been raised for the families of a 26-year-old woman and two children who died when a fire tore through a Buffalo home last week.
Brianna Ross and 4-year-old Cianna Jones were killed in Friday’s early morning fire at a home on the city’s east side. The girl’s brother, 8-year-old G’Shawn McGhee, suffered burns over most of his body and died the next day.
The children’s parents escaped the blaze, but the mother suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized.
Ross was the aunt of the two children.
GoFundMe fundraisers have raised more than $16,000 as of Monday.
Rev. Darius Pridgen, president of Buffalo’s Common Council, says thousands more was collected during Sunday services at is True Bethel Baptist Church.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
