August 18, 2018

HUNTINGTON — The following information was provided by criminal complaints filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court:

POSSESSION WITH INTENT: Two people were arrested about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on James River Turnpike in Milton, near Blenko Glass, on outstanding warrants for possession with intent to deliver heroin.

Shannon Nicole Gibson, 23, and Jason William Barker, 42, were jailed at 10 p.m., according to booking records at Western Regional Jail. Both bonds were set at $100,000.

Gibson is charged with three counts of possession with intent and conspiracy. Barker is charged with two counts of possession with intent and conspiracy.

Two of Barker’s and Gibson’s possession with intent charges are from warrants that were issued in 2017. On three occasions in November 2017, Gibson and Barker allegedly delivered amounts of heroin in exchange for currency to an individual who was cooperating with police in an investigation.

The third possession with intent charge was added when Gibson was allegedly found to be in possession of three packages of heroin that she told responding officers Barker had asked her to hold. Police also added the conspiracy charges to both suspects following their arrest.
