Wyoming Sem Grad Wins On ‘Millionaire’
SCRANTON — A Dunmore native with a knack for game shows won $100,000 on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”
Liz Murphy, a Wyoming Seminary graduate who now lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, appeared on Friday’s episode of the popular ABC show, which asks contestants a series of multiple-choice questions of varying difficulty.
But this isn’t the first game show success for the lifelong trivia buff. In April 2009, she appeared on “Jeopardy!” several days in a row, winning $121,302 over the course of five days. In May 2010, she appeared on the show’s annual Tournament of Champions.
Murphy, could not be reached for comment late Friday.
