RUSTON, La. (AP) _ Junior center LaNae Jones came off of the bench to score a career-high 20 points and lead Oklahoma to a 90-55 victory over Loyola, Md., on Thursday night in the first round of the NCAA East Regional.

The victory lifted the No. 7-seeded Sooners (22-8) into Saturday’s championship game against the winner of Thursday’s other first-round game between host Louisiana Tech and Furman.

Jones entered the game with 13:30 left in the first half and scored 10 points during a 19-4 run that boosted the Sooners into a 43-25 halftime lead.

In the second half, 10th-seeded Loyola (20-9) managed only four field goals while Oklahoma zipped out to leads of 41 points on two different occasions.

The Sooners began substituting freely late in the first half, but the Metro Atlantic Conference champions from Loyola were unable to stop the Big Eight runners-up.

Jones was 8-of-12 to lead a 54.7 shooting percentage for the Sooners, now 2-1 in NCAA tourney games.

Senior forward Sheri Black had 12 points and junior forward Etta Maytubby 10 for Oklahoma.

Loyola got 29 points from senior forward Patty Stoffey, the No. 9-ranked scorer in Division I. She was 15-of-16 from the foul line.

The Greyhounds were only 4-of-26 from the field in the second half, but finished with a 42-38 lead in rebounding.

Senior forward Camille Joyner had 10 rebounds for Loyola.
