KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Antone Williamson singled home the winning run in the 10th inning after Arizona State got two homers from tournament MVP Todd Cady in a 5-4 win Monday over Tennessee for the NCAA Mideast Regional title.

The victory earned ASU a berth in the College World Series.

Tennessee (52-14) forced extra innings because Todd Helton hit a dramatic grand slam with two outs in the eighth.

The Red Devils (43-16) went 4-0 during the regional, beating the host Volunteers twice en route to their berth in Series, which opens Friday in Omaha.

Noah Peery (11-1) relieved Sun Devils starter Kaipo Spenser in the eighth to earn the win, despite surrendering Helton’s homer. Tennessee freshman R.A. Dickey (15-2) took the loss, ending a streak of 15 consecutive victories.

Arizona State got a two-run homer Cady in the first and padded the lead to 3-0 in the fourth inning on a run-scoring double by Damon Lembi. Cady hit his second homer of the game in the sixth, a solo shot that widened the lead to 4-0 and set the stage for Helton’s game-tying shot in the eighth.
