LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming man pleaded guilty to a first-degree murder charge in exchange for prosecutors recommending a life sentence and not the death penalty.

The Laramie Boomerang reports 30-year-old Trevor Lee Sanford entered the guilty plea in court on Tuesday for the death of 75-year-old Marilyn Dlugosh.

Prosecutors say the guilty plea was entered in exchange for the state also recommending the dismissal of an alternative murder charge.

Authorities say Dlugosh was found dead near the front door of her home outside Laramie in March. Authorities discovered she died from blunt force trauma to the back of her head, and her car, cellphone and bank cards were missing.

Authorities say Sanford lived in Dlugosh's residence for a few days prior to her death.
