Stamford police seize pound of pot

STAMFORD — Police say they seized a pound of marijuana Thursday night when checking on a suspicious car in Glenbrook.

Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said two officers checked out a car parked in a lot across the street from the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County and found two teens drinking alcohol.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found a pound of marijuana, Shawinsky said.

Shawinsky said Christopher Candito, 18, admitted having the marijuana and was charged with possession of more than four ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of alcohol by a minor and criminal trespassing.

The 17-year-old juvenile was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and criminal trespass. He was turned over to the custody of his parents.
